PLEASE UNDERSTAND: Students in the Teen Challenge program MAY NOT participate in the snowboard team. The team is composed of graduates of the program and other members. You may have an opportunity once you successfully complete the program.
The 180 Snowboard Team was started 5 years ago. The vision was to use snow sports to mentor young men who are in hi-risk situations, like experimenting with drugs and alcohol. We offer help to men from the ages of 17-35. Some have abusive parents; some just need a friend or “big brother” to help them along.
We help them make healthy decisions as well as build their character and help them with self esteem issues.
Using snow sports as a tool to take underprivileged or developing young men into the mountains provides them a safe haven to be honest and real with themselves without having to worry about the daily struggle to get by.
Often, the guys have never experienced anything like this. We strive to provide mentors who will consistently be there and not let them down.
The 180 Snowboard Team provides the equipment, meals, transportation and mentors for day outings. Private donors alone make this program possible. Feel free to call us with any questions or check out our local branches website at teenchallenge180.com.
